Inflatable Water Slides - FAQs
General FAQs
Are water slides dangerous?
All of our products meet EN71 toy standards. Young children should be supervised by an adult at all times to ensure their safety.
Are BeBop Water Slides suitable for older children or adults?
It is important that you adhere to the maximum weight and height limits per user and the overall maximum number of users to ensure safe play. The age limit on most of our Inflatable Water Slides is 10 Years. The upper age limit is calculated on the average weight and height of a 10 year old in the UK. The maximum weight limit for each user is 38kg and the maximum height for each user is 145cm. As long as your children are under these limits, it is safe to play.
Set Up FAQs
How big is a water slide?
Our inflatable water slides come in a range of different sizes, starting from 546cm (L) x 300cm (W) x 240cm (H). If you need any further information about the sizes of our water slides, contact our team.
Can you use an inflatable water slide without water?
All of our Inflatable Water Slides and Bouncy Castle Water Slide combination products can be used wet or dry as long as children are wearing suitable clothing such as trousers, long sleeved tops and socks.
Can you put an inflatable water slide on concrete?
No, we would not recommend putting up an inflatable water slide on concrete. This is a safety hazard and could also damage your inflatable.
How much water does an inflatable water slide use?
A water slide typically uses about 3 litres of water per minute.
Do inflatable water slides recycle water?
Water slides do not typically recycle water, the water collects in the splash pool.
Are BeBop Water Slides supplied with the electric fan?
Yes, all new BeBop inflatables are supplied with the electric fan, water tubing, anchor pegs, carry bag and repair patches. You don’t need to purchase anything else to get started.
Do I have to keep the fan on at all times when using the Water Slide?
BeBop Water Slides all run with a continual airflow, which means the fan must be switched on at all times the item is in use.
I can feel air coming from the Water Slide, and I can also hear a noise - is this normal?
As BeBop Water Slides run through a continual air flow, the only way for air to escape is through the seams, and small 'pin' holes in the fabric. These small holes are made in the material at the point of manufacture to relieve excess pressure. In areas of higher pressure, you may hear a wheeze, whistle or squeak and you will also feel more air escaping in some areas, this is completely normal operation.
I can see lots of air bubbles in the corners and on the seams when the water is on, is this normal?
As the air escapes from our water slides through the seams and small holes, when water is added you will see lots of air bubbles, which is completely normal. In areas of high pressure and in the corners, you may see more bubbles than in other areas.
How does the water connection work?
BeBop supplies the water tubing that is fitted with a male connector. This connector then attaches to a ‘Hoselock’ system (the ‘Hoselock’ connector is not supplied). Your Water Slide or Bouncy Castle Combo will have small Velcro hooks that feed the tubing over the slide canopy. There are small shower ends that fix to the slide canopy with velcro.
If your product features a water cannon, the tubing will be T shaped, one section feeding over the slide canopy and the other feeding around the front of the item onto the water cannon.
Can the water cannon and slide spray run independently?
No, the water tubing is a single item that attaches to your garden hosepipe, and the features cannot run independently.
My product has a water cannon and the water is spraying too high, what can I do?
Reduce the pressure on your hosepipe to control the water spray and re-adjust the part attached to the cannon with Velcro to find the correct position.
How long is the inlet tube that connects to the fan and does this have to be straight?
The length of the inlet tube is roughly 1.9 meters, and the material tube must be straight to avoid restricting the airflow.
Does the Splash pool have a plug and how do I empty the water?
Our Children's Water Slides do not have a plug in the splash pool. It is recommended that you regularly empty the splash pool during play by tipping the water out manually.
There is water collecting inside the Water Slide, is this normal and how do I get it out?
As BeBop Inflatables are not sealed to allow the air to escape through the seams and small pin holes made in the fabric, it is normal for water to also drip through inside the cavity of the slide. You will have an outlet on your water slide, which is a small material tube that should be closed through use. Use this outlet to tip out any water that has collected inside the product regularly throughout use.
Weather FAQs
Can you put up an inflatable water slide in the rain?
No, we would not advise putting up an inflatable water slide in the rain, as this may become a safety hazard. Children should only play on the water slide in dry weather.
Is the inflatable blower waterproof?
No, the inflatable blower should be disconnected from the electrical supply during wet weather.
Can I leave my inflatable water slide up overnight?
No, the water slide must be dried out and stored away indoors after each use. Tip out any excess water from the splashpool and any water collected inside the item, connect the fan to the long inlet tube and untie the short outlet tube, leave to dry for up to 2 hours (depending on the weather) and then pack the inflatable away in a cool dry place.
We are having a period of hot, dry weather, why can’t I leave my inflatable outdoors in the summer?
Your BeBop Inflatable is made from Nylon with a thin PVC lining and as with all materials, if deflated and left wet, or left outdoors for a sustained period, the material and stitching will weaken and rot causing irreparable damage. Even in nice weather, it can be very damp at night and early in the morning. This means the material is sitting in the damp for a long period of time.
Maintenance FAQs
How do you fix an inflatable water slide?
If your inflatable water slide is damaged, it will be covered by our 6 month warranty. We will ask for photographic evidence of the damage to determine the repairs needed. Where possible, we will replace any faulty components and repair the product, rather than replacing the whole item. If we are unable to repair the item, then a replacement will be issued.
What warranty or guarantee is supplied with my BeBop Water Slide?
We provide a 6 month manufacturing warranty on the inflatable itself and a 12 month warranty on the electric fan. This covers you for defects at the point of manufacture. We would expect any defects to show within 6 months of purchase. We would class a manufacturing defect as a seam or stitching failure, or the fan malfunctioning. Accidental damage, rips or tears will not be covered, but we can still assist in resolving any of these issues.
How do you find a puncture in an inflatable?
BeBop inflatables are supplied with a self adhesive repair patch kit for small punctures or rips. We can also facilitate a paid repair service whereby we would arrange to have the item inspected at our warehouse and if we feel a repair is possible a price will be discussed before sending to the repair centre. The cost of sending the item to us would need to be covered by you but the inspection will be free of charge.
How do you clean an inflatable water slide?
Inflatable water slides can be cleaned by wiping them down with a cloth and soapy water. They can also be sprayed with a hosepipe, or hoovered lightly on the lowest setting to remove any debris.
How do I store my water slide when not in use?
All BeBop inflatables will be provided with a carry bag to store your item safely when not in use. It's important that the item is stored away dry in a cool dry place to keep the material in good condition.
I have unpacked my inflatable water slide after storing it for a while and it now has mould on it, how can I get rid of this?
Although it is not a common problem for the product to gather mould, it can happen if the item is not dried correctly and packed away indoors after every use. The item is made from Nylon, and as with all materials, if left wet, or left outdoors for a sustained period, this may occur.
We would recommend that the item is cleaned using a soft bristled brush and water only. Unfortunately, we would not recommend using any type of detergent on the material including mould remover. This could cause more damage to the material.
